Strategic Cybersecurity Coalition Applauds Introduction of Bipartisan U.S. Tech PATH Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Strategic Cybersecurity Coalition (SCC) issued the following statement today strongly endorsing the U.S. Technology Procurement and Access to Trusted Hardware Act (U.S. Tech PATH Act), introduced by Senate Foreign Relations Committee Ranking Member Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE).
"The U.S. Tech PATH Act is a vital step forward in modernizing American statecraft for the digital age," said Tatyana Bolton, Executive Director of the Strategic Cybersecurity Coalition." Senators Shaheen and Ricketts deserve immense credit for delivering a bipartisan solution that ensures American technology remains the global standard. This legislation provides the necessary tools to optimize our technology transfer processes so we can meet the urgent digital defense needs of our allies."
As an organization, the Strategic Cybersecurity Coalition is dedicated to advancing national security by accelerating the deployment of advanced cyber capabilities to global partners. The coalition’s primary goal is to increase the speed and efficiency with which Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Foreign Military Financing (FMF) are processed through the Department of Defense and the Department of State. By advocating for updated procurement frameworks, the SCC works to ensure that cybersecurity is treated as a primary pillar of strategic defense.

By authorizing $500 million for the Cyberspace, Digital Connectivity, and Related Technologies fund and establishing a dedicated procurement program at the State Department, this legislation creates a structured path forward to meet international demand signals for trusted American tech. The SCC applauds this bipartisan initiative and looks forward to supporting the committee's efforts to ensure our partner nations have efficient access to secure, resilient digital infrastructure.
